The challenge

BDC operators often rely on manual processes and spreadsheets to manage daily transactions and financial records. These workflows can make records difficult to maintain, reconcile, audit, and review efficiently. The client needed a purpose-built system that could support BDC-specific operations while providing a more structured and reliable way to manage transaction records and operational reporting.

The solution

Clywell designed and developed a focused internal operations platform around the specific workflows of BDC businesses rather than adapting a generic accounting system. The platform supports transaction recording and management, financial record organisation, reconciliation workflows, operator reporting, and role-based access control. This gives authorised users a structured environment for managing and reviewing daily financial activity. The system was built with .NET and deployed using Docker, providing a focused technical foundation for the client's internal finance operations.

Why it matters

The platform is currently in live use across two BDC operations, supporting day-to-day transaction and financial record management. Rather than providing a generic accounting solution, Clywell delivered software tailored to the operational requirements of the client's business. The project demonstrates Clywell's ability to build secure, domain-specific business software for operationally sensitive environments.
